Terms and Conditions

Please see Terms and Conditions of Dental Centre Turkey™

The information contained herein is for the purposes of informing the reader, the patient, of the terms and conditions under which dental treatment is facilitated by Dental Centre Turkey

    Who we are:
Dental Centre Turkey does not supply dental services or carry out dental treatment. Dental Centre Turkey is a facilitator for dental services. Those services are provided by independently operated local clinics in Turkey (“local clinics”). We simply provide quotations for the cost of, and book appointments for, dental treatment and we can arrange some elements of your travel and accommodation (e.g. booking a hotel room for you and booking transfers for you to pay locally). In return for making booking arrangements between you and the local clinic we receive a referral fee from the local clinic. We are not in partnership with the local clinics.

You can find details of our company name, registration number and registered office address, on our website.

On the conclusion of your consultation in the local clinic itself, you will be informed what services are recommended (“the treatment plan”) and the applicable fees. Please note, this may differ from the treatment plan provided to you prior to arrival. You may then enter into a contract with the local clinic to provide those services. Any treatment plans given at any time are not provided by Dental Centre Turkey but by a Dentist or Oral Surgeon at the local clinic.

As there is no contract between you and us and we are not selling goods or services the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 do not apply.

Upon accepting of these terms and conditions, you acknowledge that you have been given as much time as required to read this document and make an informed decision as to your agreement to the terms set out below.

Should the price change, Dental Centre Turkey will inform you prior to your departure. Both Dental Centre Turkey and the local clinic can assume no responsibility nor hold any liability rendered by a third-party supplier to include but not limited to a transfer company or hotel that may arise directly or indirectly from any such services neither Dental Centre Turkey or the local clinic is to be held accountable. Should any legal issue arise to include but not limited to a malpractice or negligence claim and/ or any other claims it is the responsibility of the patient to pursue the matter with the third-party provider directly or indirectly via their legal representatives and if deemed necessary through the legal system in Turkey. Appointment Pick-Up Times:
Dental care is health care and as such patient appointments can run over schedule which can sometimes have an adverse effect on a subsequent patient’s pick-up time. Dental Centre Turkey are not to be held responsible in the event that a pick-up time does not run to schedule.

    Clinic appointment Times:
Dental care is health care and as such patient appointments can run over schedule. The local clinic will endeavour to manage the clinic diary to ensure wait times are kept to a minimum however a patient’s need for additional time in the local clinic chair will remain a priority to ensure a high standard of dental treatment is maintained. Due to the nature of healthcare appointments, we remind you that the appointment system does not always run according to schedule and at times you may not be seen at the advised time. Dental Centre Turkey are not to be held responsible in the event that an appointment does not run to schedule.

    Pregnancy:
The local clinics do not provide dental treatment or any other services to patients who are pregnant. In the event that the patient was pregnant at the time of treatment and did not disclose their circumstances the guarantee will be invalidated. Should a patient arrive in the local clinic while pregnant, no treatment or compensation will be offered or payable for any aspect of patient expenses to include but not limited to flights, accommodation and travel expenses.

    Dental Treatment for minors:
The local clinics do not provide dental treatment or any other services to patients under the age of 18 years. In the event that the patient is under the age of 18 at the time of treatment and did not disclose their actual age, the guarantee will be invalidated. Should a patient arrive in the local clinic, under the age of 18 years, no treatment or compensation will be offered or payable for any aspect of patient expenses to include but not limited to flights, accommodation and travel expenses.

    X-rays and 3D scans:
Dental X-rays and 3D Tomography scans are usually carried out for each patient to determine the overall health and condition of the teeth, bones, underlying jaw structure, gum line along with the position of facial nerves and sinus pockets. Essentially, they are an integral part of a patient’s examination. Following treatment, a new X-ray may be taken to show the actuality of the treatment and will remain in the local clinic as part of your treatment records.

Such X-rays and 3D scans may seem complex however, they are very common tools used to diagnose a patient’s oral health and they are used with low levels of radiation considered safe for adults and children. Local clinics use digital X-rays instead of developing them on film and as such a patient risks from radiation exposure are even lower.

If a patient refuses to have an initial X-ray or 3D scan, the local clinic may refuse to treat the patient. If a patient refuses to have a final X-ray or 3D scan post treatment, it will invalidate the dental guarantee in its entirety.

    The services we provide:
Dental Centre Turkey is a medical tourism facilitator striving to simplify the process for those seeking dental treatment abroad. We work with a number of licensed local clinics and dental centres in key medical tourism destinations within Turkey. We aid patients in obtaining a free quote on the cost of their proposed dental treatment(s), as well as help in arranging some elements of a patient’s travel.

If you are unhappy about the dental services provided by a local clinic, although Dental Centre Turkey has no personal liability for the advice, acts or omissions of the local clinic, we will guide you through the process of resolving any dispute.

    Payment within the local clinic:
You can pay in part or full at any time during your treatment in the local clinic itself. In the case of Cosmetic treatment (with the exception of Lumineers), payment is not requested upfront and the local clinic will not ask for payment in full until your last appointment before your final fitting however, if you would prefer to pay for your treatment after your initial consultation on your first appointment this is also fine. In the case of Dental Implants and Lumineers, payment is requested on your first appointment. Payment can be made using cash or card (Visa or Mastercard) in the local clinic itself and a 10% discount is applied in such cases. In the event you choose to pay via Credit or Debit card additional charges may be applied by your local bank. If you contact your bank letting them know the expected amount and that you will be using your card in Turkey, they will be able to give you an idea of the associated charges. In relation to types of card, the local clinic accepts all Visa and Mastercard’s, but they do not accept American Express. If payment is being made by Credit or Debit Card the card must be physically present in the local clinic itself. Please note: The local clinic is unable to accept payment via Apple Pay, any other application or crypto currency.

Please Note: The currencies authorised to be accepted in the local clinic are as follows:

**If you would like to pay in an alternative currency, this should be authorised in writing by Dental Centre Turkey and prior to your arrival in Turkey.

If full payment is not received by the local clinic, along with the necessary local clinic documentation, this will result in your treatment being delayed or incomplete until such time as the full payment is received by the local clinic. The local clinic is unable to complete the dental treatment before full payment is received. Any delays incurred due to a payment issue may result in additional costs. Any such costs are the sole responsibility of the patient and no contribution will be offered or made by Dental Centre Turkey or the local clinic.

All transactions are fully documented and accounted for. A full receipt for treatments received is issued by the local clinic.

If there is any payment outstanding upon the completion of a patient’s dental treatment whether in part or in full, no form of dental guarantee will be provided.

    Informed Consent:
I understand I have the right to ask questions about any procedure before agreeing to proceed with treatment and it is my responsibility to determine the level of information that I require to make an informed decision. I also understand that the decision to proceed with treatment is entirely my own based on a sufficiency of information provided during my consultation in the local clinic according to the questions I felt necessary to ask and have answered.

The local clinic has a legal obligation to provide you with any forms or documentation necessary according to their own processes, procedures and obligations. The local clinic reserves the right of refusal to provide treatment.

Returning for corrective treatment due to reporting pain:

Dental Centre Turkey assumes no responsibility nor liability for any advice, treatment or other services rendered by any Dentist, Oral Surgeon, Technician or other local clinic staff for any malpractice or negligence claims and other claims that may arise directly or indirectly from any such treatment or other services.

Insofar as we may act as the agent of the local clinic to whom we refer you, we will provide full details of the local clinic and the local clinic is the party with whom you will enter into a contract. We are not a party to any such contract and have no liability under it. You may not bring any claim against us based on our acting as agent for the local clinic.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, neither Dental Centre Turkey nor any of its officers, directors, shareholders, employees, affiliates or other representatives will be liable for loss or damages arising out of or in connection with your use of any facilities, services and the services offered via Website or social media or transactions entered into through or from any other direct communications with Dental Centre Turkey including, for the avoidance of doubt, your transactions with healthcare providers or medical services facilitated through Dental Centre Turkey social media or through direct communication with Dental Centre Turkey including, but not limited to, direct, indirect or consequential losses or damages, loss of income, profit or opportunity, loss of, or damage to, property and claims of third parties, even if Dental Centre Turkey has been advised of the possibility of such loss or damages, or such loss or damages were reasonably foreseeable.

In no event shall Dental Centre Turkey nor any of its officers, directors, shareholders, employees, affiliates or other representatives be liable for any damages whatsoever resulting from the statements or conduct of any healthcare provider or third-party provider.

    The right of refusal:
As a patient you have the right to make an informed decision about your dental treatment and to which local clinic you entrust such treatment. During your consultation you have the opportunity to refuse the recommended dental treatment and no charges will be made for such prior to a patient signing a consent form. Following the signing of a consent form should a patient choose to cancel their dental treatment they will be liable for any local clinic costs incurred to include but not limited to: laboratory and material costs. In the same manner that a patient has a right to choose their dental provider and refuse treatment upon arrival the local clinic also has a right to refuse to treat a patient. They may do so with or without reason. Some of the reasons may include but are not limited to:

    • If a patient appears to be unsure of the advised treatment plan.
    • If the patient has an unrealistic expectation of the result that can be achieved.
    • New information is provided in the local clinic itself that may have an adverse effect on a patient’s overall health or dental treatment. If the dental team feel the proposed dental treatment will have an adverse effect on a patients overall dental health or dental function.
    • If a patient refuses an X-Ray or 3D Tomographic scan.
    • If a patient is verbally abusive to a member of staff.
    • If a patient demands treatment the local clinic is unwilling to provide.
    • If a patient fails to make payment once requested.
    • Cultural or language barriers.
    • Personal or religious beliefs which may affect healthcare.

In the event that treatment is not provided in the local clinic itself, Dental Centre Turkey is not responsible for the reimbursement of any costs incurred to include but not limited to: travel and ancillary.

    Prescriptions:
I understand that drugs and anaesthetics may cause unanticipated reactions, which might require medical treatment.

Antibiotics, analgesics, and other medications can cause allergic reactions causing redness, swelling of tissues, pain, itching, vomiting, and/or anaphylactic shock (severe allergic reaction) and even death. They may cause drowsiness and lack of awareness and coordination, which can be increased by the use of alcohol or other drugs. I understand this and fully agree not to operate any vehicle or hazardous device for at least 24 hours or until fully recovered from the effects of any anaesthetic medication or drugs that may be given to me in the office for my treatment. I understand that failure to take medications prescribed for me in the manner prescribed may offer risks of continued or aggravated infection, pain, and potential resistance to effect treatment of my condition. I understand that antibiotics can reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives.

If you have been given a prescription and you are in any doubt how and when to take the medication(s) please alert a member of staff in the local clinic. To do so you may contact us via phone (on the number provided in your booking confirmation email) or email us at: [email protected]. Please note: Prescriptions and the taking of any medications is important and we should be notified as soon as possible if you have any questions or you are unsure how and when to take your prescribed medications.

If you have been provided with a prescription and the prescription is not filled or is filled and the medication (s) not taken, Dental Centre Turkey and/ or the local clinic reserves the right to void any and all aspects of your dental guarantee.

    Prescriptions Charges:
Any prescriptions for medications to include but not limited to: Pills, Ointments, Aerosols, Balms and Unguents, to include but not limited to pain relief or antibiotics, will be provided by the appropriate local clinic staff. Patients may be asked to sign in the local clinic to say they have been provided with a prescription. The private prescription itself is provided without charge by the local clinic however upon production of the prescription at the dispensing pharmacy, the pharmacy itself will levy a charge. Such charges are determined by the pharmacy and not Dental Centre Turkey or the local clinic and these charges are the sole financial responsibility of the patient. Such costs are usually minimal and payable directly to the pharmacy in Turkish Lira. The patient is advised to be physically present in the pharmacy while the prescription is being filled and to take physical possession of the medication at the point of payment within the pharmacy itself. To do otherwise is to invite the potential for confusion and related issues.

    Risks, allergic reactions, health issues:
While all drugs can have side effects, some can lead to allergic reactions caused by drug intolerance. Drugs often responsible for allergic reactions include antibiotics, local anaesthesia and painkillers such as aspirins and ibuprofen. In some cases, drug allergies can be fatal. All prescriptions are written and provided by the local clinic professionals. Dental Centre Turkey cannot be held responsible for any allergic reactions to products or prescribed medications. It is the responsibility of the patient to provide information relating to known allergies to the local clinic staff and such information is to be provided by the patient in writing before they travel and further outlined on the patient welcome form provided upon arrival in the local clinic. Although the best endeavours are made to ensure the correct medications are prescribed, in the event of an error Dental Centre Turkey are not the medical professional and as such cannot be held responsible or liable in the event of a dispute. It may be possible for a patient to experience an allergic reaction to a drug, product or chemical in the local clinic before or following treatment to which they have no known prior allergy. The local clinic can only rely on the allergy information provided in advance by the patient in writing on the patient welcome form.

The patient is responsible for disclosing anything they feel would or could have a detrimental effect on their dental treatment to include but not limited to: drug use (prescribed or otherwise), a diet of raw fruit and vegetables, blood disorders, heart conditions and or other illnesses that are known to have a detrimental effect on oral health.

The local clinic providing treatment will be completely responsible for all the treatments, opinions and advice given, no matter when or in what form. Dental Centre Turkey will not be accountable or held responsible for the same.
